Turn a live experience, conversation, event, or presentation into visual.

Comic Recording turns real-time experiences into illustrated stories. From conferences and workshops to podcasts and team offsites, Maagari Doodles captures the ideas, conversations, people and unexpected moments that make an experience memorable—and turns them into comics you can share, print and keep.

The idea is to observe the key moments, ideas, conversations, characters and emotions—and transforms them into a visual illustrations. It can be created live during the event or developed from recordings, transcripts and reference material afterward.

Visual Diary of CCBP

An observational storytelling project that transforms everyday experiences into visual narratives.

This comic recording was created during the IIMA Cultural and Creative Business Program (CCBP), the work documents students' lives both inside and outside the classroom through live sketching and comic journaling while preserving their anonymity.

By capturing candid conversations, shared experiences, and moments of humour and reflection, the project evolved into a personalized comic book featuring over fifty stories from the cohort. Combining illustration with live comic recording, the work explores how ordinary interactions can become a form of collective memory. Through visual storytelling, it celebrates the uniqueness of everyday life, fostering connections and creating an engaging archive of a community’s shared experiences.

What happens when an online class becomes a comic?

During the Draw Your Thought by Sillily Strokes online classes, the live class experience was captured through Comic Recording—turning conversations, funny moments, ideas, interactions and memorable bits from the sessions into a visual comic.

Instead of simply taking notes, the class was observed and transformed into a story that could be seen, read and remembered.

From Live Class to Comic

As the session unfolded, moments from the class were translated into characters, expressions, conversations and visual gags. The final comic became a playful snapshot of what happened inside the virtual classroom.
